How does Electronic Check by Phone work?

  1. You take your customers checking account information (routing number, account number, amount

How long does it take for the check to be deposited into my account?

A copy of your customers check will be deposited into your account normally in 24-48 hours.

How will Electronic Checks by Phone make my business more efficient?

Instead of physically moving checks or waiting for the check in the mail you can simply take your customer’s checking account information over the phone and a copy of their check will be deposited into your bank automatically. It not only eliminates the need for paper checks but it speeds up the payment process considerably.

Are Electronic Checks an ACH?

Electronic checks are a non-ACH electronic processing solution. This is great because it avoids many of the limits and underwriting required for ACH and means we can approve high risk customers and virtually an legal business for electronic checks. If you are low risk high volume and need an ACH solution we do offer those and you can call 800-844-2044 for more information on that.

When I take a Check by Phone what name appears in my customer's bank statement?

When you set-up your account with us you will be asked for your DBA name and that is what will appear on your customer’s bank statement.

How long does it take the check to clear once it is deposited into my account?

When the copy of the check lands in your bank account it will clear just like any other check which usually means 1-2 days.

How can I be assured that my customer has enough funds to cover the check?

Due to privacy laws there is currently no way to know or check the amount that is in a checking account. If your customer does not have enough funds to cover the check then the check will bounce just like a normal check. We do however scrub checks when entered against known bad check writer databases.

Are Checks by Phone secure?

Electronic check processing has been around a long time and the Checks 21 act passed in 2004 requires banks to accept copies of checks as if they were real checks if they are presented in the correct electronic format. Our proprietary software ensures that your customer’s checks are secure and presented to the bank in the exact format that they require.

What is a credit card merchant account?

A merchant account is a special account designed specifically for processing electronic payments, such as credit/debit cards.

How soon can I start processing payments once my application is approved for credit cards?

Once your merchant account application has been approved and enrolled (typically 3-5 business days for credit cards), you can begin processing payments IMMEDIATELY. Credit cards do have more underwriting and take a bit longer to approve than electronic checks.

What types of credit cards can I accept?

You can accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Diners and JCB.

When will the funds settle into my bank account? & can it be any bank account?

Funds will appear in your bank account within 3-4 business days. Funds are deposited in any business banking account you choose.

Are the authorizations provided in real-time? Can a chargeback happen?

You bet. Authorizations happen instantly. A credit card chargeback is a dispute that a cardholder has filed with the card-issuing bank. For more details and tips give us a call.

Are Electronic Checks in a seperate terminal than your credit card solution?

Our electronic check option is a non-ach electronic solution that does require a seperate terminal. If you appy for electronic checks and credit cards they will be at seperate login locations. If you are low risk and can get approved for our ACH we can integrate that with the credit card terminal.

We’re glad you asked! We a great credit card processing package called Merchant+. We can also implement a custom Enterprise package for merchants with larger volumes. Can I use my current credit card terminal?

Most likely. The system works with many pre-existing POS terminals. In the rare instance we cannot make it work, we will do everything we can to find you a great device that fits your needs and is competitively priced.
